Quentin Tarantino has done an interview with Enzo Castellari, the director of the original INGLORIOUS BASTARDS, the film that Quentin Tarantino's version is (loosely) based on, for a three disc special edition release.
AICN, has seen the footage and they have a detailed rundown which includes some real juicy information about Tarantino's version of the movie.
First off, Tarantino says the story is too big for one movie, and so will get a two-film treatment.
Also, set in World War II, Tarantino’s story begins with a group of hardened criminals on a military transport that gets ambushed by Nazis. The prisoners escape and must fight both the Nazis AND the Allies on their journey to the neutral country, Switzerland. Fantastic!
At this years Cannes Film Festival, Tarantino announced he'd finished the screenplay and he's now apparently in pre-production. His aim is to have a finished movie by the 2009 festival.
Can he do it?
We'll see - but at least he's now making the movie!
