AMC have recently interviewed Sci-Fi Screenwriting legend (and creator of Babylon 5), J Michael Straczynski, who among other things, talks Marvel's SILVER SURFER.
Remember the 'silver' - um - 'surfer' type dude from Fantastic Four 2? Well he's had a movie in 'development hell' for a few years now; and after Fantastic Four, it looked for a minute like the movie might actually get made!
Guess what? It might not anymore!
When asked about his involvement with the project, Straczynski said:
"Whether or not it ever gets made I don't know because they were kind of disappointed in how Fantastic Four 2 did. And given how this will be a subset of FF2 in terms of the marketing strategy, I think there is hesitation there about putting it forward. The script is pretty good, I like it, but whether or not it goes into production, I have no idea."
Bad news for die-hard marvel fans, maybe it needs the magic touch of being a MARVEL STUDIOS project? Then after one successful film they can sack the movie's director for a cheaper guy.
Did I just says that? Naughty me. Anyway moving on...
Straczynski did elaborate on what his script involved, and I've got to say that for a non-Silver Surfer fan it does sound like a pretty cool premise:
"The theory was for it to pick up literally the next frame after the FF2 movie, where you find out why Silver Surfer was there and what happened to him. We would have seen Galactus, his home world, what happened and him trying to get back there, because now that he's betrayed Galactus, he's concerned his home world might be in jeopardy."
Sounds good to me, sign it up Marvel! After all lets face it, you're fast running out of characters to shoot!

No more Silver Surfer movie?
