SUPERMAN RETURNS (again)

Brandon Routh has been asked by Hollywood.com about the long awaited sequel to 2006's Superman Returns, tentatively titled MAN OF STEEL, and well as also addressing the troubled JUSTICE LEAGUE production.

When asked about Justice League, his answer is pretty much what we all thought anyway:

"I think it seems as though that's not happening, it's on the back burner right now so it's just Man of Steel now."

Good news there. While MARVEL are heading towards a multi-hero AVENGERS movie, they also seem to be playing by comic book rules, keeping the story in the same universe, with the characters played out by the same actors for the sake on continuity.

Justice League on the other hand, was looking for a different angle, at one point DC seemed to want Batman and Superman both recast for the movie, to the fan's disappointment.

So what about Man of Steel then Brandon?

"They're busy writing a script and then I trust we'll be starting next year, early next year. That's my timeline anyway."

So there you have it, short but sweet. It looks like Routh will once again get to don the red cape and hopefully, sooner rather than later. And hopefully before DC get Justice league off of the ground again, they might look at the good example of movie crossovers set by Marvel.
