Five new stills from THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL have now hit the net.

My hope is that this movie is a lot better than the recent remake of War of the Worlds, and so far judging by what I've seen as well as the inclusion of KEANU REEVES, it could well be!

The Day the Earth Stood Still is 20th Century Fox's contemporary reinvention of its 1951 classic. Keanu Reeves portrays Klaatu, an alien whose arrival on our planet triggers a global upheaval.

As governments and scientists race to unravel the mystery behind the visitor's appearance, a woman (Jennifer Connelly) and her young stepson get caught up in his mission – and come to understand the ramifications of his being a self-described friend to the Earth'.

The Day the Earth Stood Still will invade theatres in the UK and US on 12th December 2008, you can check out the new stills below, I've also thrown in the awesome teaser trailer - enjoy!
