Paul Bettany has been cast to play Charles Darwin, 'the Father of evolution' in CREATION, with his real life wife, Jennifer Connelly, playing his on-screen missus!

The story will follow the young Darwin as he embarks on the formulation of his theory, and finds himself torn between "his growing belief in a world where God has no place*" and his deeply religious wife, Emma.

The film's based on Annie's Box, a book by Randal Keynes (Darwin's great-great-grandson) about the effect that the death of Darwin's eldest daughter at age 10 had on him, so expect family as well as biology-based drama in there.

The script's been adapted by John Collee and the movie will be directed by Jon Amiel's. The film will also have a rather talented supporting cast, in the shape of Jeremy Northam, Toby Jones and Benedict Cumberbatch.

Shooting starts at the end of September on location in England and is a Recorded Picture Co. production, co-developed with BBC Films and the U.K. Film Council.

I'm glad I could thrill you so easily Anonymous - normally I'd have to plie someone with Alcohol before even being given a chance to 'thrill' them (ahem).

My point to the article is this:

Charles Darwin is known to be the founder of the theory of evolution - a theory so profound that it changed the way the human race thinks of history as we know it.

My SECOND point - is that Paul Bettany is badass! Bettany is probably one of the most under-rated actors of his time and has played some fantastic roles in his career. His part in the so-so comedy 'A Knights Tale' springs to mind.

He played Chaucer with style, and made that role completely his own - in fact I'd go as far as to say that he was the most entertaining character in that movie. So if he put in just one shred of the effort that he did in that role then we have genuine entertainment on our hands - something of a rarity these days.

But thanks for the clear and concise feedback :0)
