And so do I! This is one Marvel property that would make a fantastic film adaptation! Writer Neil Gaimen and director Guillermo del Toro signed up for the DOCTOR STRANGE project in February this year, but then of course, came The Hobbit.

So what now for my favourite of the Marvel Superheros? Another few years in development hell perhaps?

Speaking to MTV, Gaiman said they were both still interested:

"Guillermo del Toro and I have talked about doing a Doctor Strange movie. And I think we'd both really like to do it. We'd love to do it together."

"The problem is, Guillermo's off doing The Hobbit, and that's going to be three or four years in New Zealand for him. And when he comes back, I suspect that he will then want to do something personal, so he'll probably do Hellboy 3 before we could ever get to do a Doctor Strange movie."
That's according to Gaimen of course. There have been reports that del Toro is fully booked until 2017, and that's not even including the third "Hellboy" movie! So it looks like unless they bring in a new director sharpish, we may well have a LONG wait before we see anything "Strange" in theatres.
